The tools for making a stone paper are brushes, bundles of broom corn or delicate whisks. Tiny spots of colors are repeatedly sprinkled onto the marbling bath until the size of the stone and look of the paper is perfect. Even with all surrounding areas covered well, spots of paint travel far. Our multi-colored, speckled studio ceiling is proof enough.

Stone papers (19 ½” x 25”) are made in all color ranges and stone sizes. Custom orders for stone papers to match a bookbinder’s leathers are welcome.
